Things Happening on April 18th

Hello again, friends! It is February 17, 2009 which means it's officially 60 days until geaux time and 8 Mondays until the big day. We are getting more and more excited (read: Hannah is becoming more and more obnoxious) and can't believe it's only two months out.

Speaking of things happening on April 18th...

For those of you that don't know, there is another person that we are marrying in April. You all know him, and some of you may (maaay) even love him. He is Jeff Asher, best friend to the groom/platonic fiance to the bride and all-around swell guy. We love (?) Jeff and his family, and are super bummed that we only get one Asher at the wedding. There is, however, an incredibly good reason for this. April 18th is the day of the 3rd annual Tour de Lis ; a bike ride to raise funds for and awareness about cancer survival and research, and to celebrate survivors and support those still battling cancer.

We are so proud of the Ashers and their efforts in this amazing project. There isn't a place to register on their website (y'all should really get on that) but we would like to use our blog to be the first ever wedding registrants of the Tour de Lis! We would like to encourage you, our treasured readers, to donate to the Tour de Lis in lieu of a gift. If you happen to see Harold before then, please tell him we're sad to report the Fairview was booked the entire week prior to the wedding which means (we are so sad about this) no weekday nuptials...and let him know we'll see him this summer.

Awesome! Although I think we all agreed a 10 AM Sunday wedding would enable everyone to do both TDL and your wedding...alas.
