Accommodations Information

We have reserved blocks of rooms at two hotels in Jackson. We would appreciate your making reservations as soon as possible so we can be sure we have enough rooms.

The Fairview Inn (where the wedding and reception are being held!) has 18 rooms for us, first come, first served. Price varies by room. You can see all of the rooms online at their website.
Call for reservations, 601.948.3429, and mention the Gershen/Orlansky wedding. If you try to make reservations online, it will show all the rooms as booked because of our block so you must call.

Cabot Lodge Millsaps is the other hotel option and it is 0.4 miles from the Fairview. Call for reservations for the Gershen/Orlansky wedding. Their number is 601.948.8650 and the room fee is $104/night.
*update: The Fairview still has 4 rooms available! If you are interested, please call them and reference the Gershen- Orlansky wedding block. Thanks! See you (really!!) soon!

Things Happening on April 18th

Hello again, friends! It is February 17, 2009 which means it's officially 60 days until geaux time and 8 Mondays until the big day. We are getting more and more excited (read: Hannah is becoming more and more obnoxious) and can't believe it's only two months out.

Speaking of things happening on April 18th...

For those of you that don't know, there is another person that we are marrying in April. You all know him, and some of you may (maaay) even love him. He is Jeff Asher, best friend to the groom/platonic fiance to the bride and all-around swell guy. We love (?) Jeff and his family, and are super bummed that we only get one Asher at the wedding. There is, however, an incredibly good reason for this. April 18th is the day of the 3rd annual Tour de Lis ; a bike ride to raise funds for and awareness about cancer survival and research, and to celebrate survivors and support those still battling cancer.

We are so proud of the Ashers and their efforts in this amazing project. There isn't a place to register on their website (y'all should really get on that) but we would like to use our blog to be the first ever wedding registrants of the Tour de Lis! We would like to encourage you, our treasured readers, to donate to the Tour de Lis in lieu of a gift. If you happen to see Harold before then, please tell him we're sad to report the Fairview was booked the entire week prior to the wedding which means (we are so sad about this) no weekday nuptials...and let him know we'll see him this summer.

In the Spirit of LUV...

...we thought we would mention that yesterday was both Saint Valentine's Day and exactly nine weeks until the wedding. Wahoo! Happy late Valentine's Day and Happy 62 Days until the wedding!

...so it turns out....(VERY importante, please read!)

We have some news on the lodging front! We have just been informed that are five rooms still available at the Fairview. Lucky for you, our fine friends and family, there was a bit of miscommunication between us and the Fairview. If and when you call to book one of these five rooms (act now!) make sure you mention that you are with the Gershen- Orlansky wedding and would like one of the remaining rooms. Good luck and God speed.

ALERT! Fairview FULL OF OUR FRIENDS!

Hey everybody! Very exciting news out of Jacktown today. The Fairview Inn is full so please direct all of your wedding weekend lodging needs to the Cabot Lodge Millsaps. The hospitality room is located there and it's also where lots of Hannah's fam is staying! The Cabot can be reached at 601.948.8650. Please book under the Gershen- Orlansky wedding block.

In other exciting wedding news...we're under 100 days! 97 days, to be exact. According to the handy dandy wedding checklist courtesy of theknot.com I have only 4 items overdue...and a mere 104 to go. WHAT?! I do have to say I am quite impressed with myself (what else is new?) that I only have 4 items overdue. To be fair, these items are probably things like "select your four favorite bobbypins and have them hand painted to match your exact hair color and make sure your bridesmaids do the same thing; if they don't, burn them at the stake. Find new bridesmaids".

Anyway, we're getting really excited and hope you are as well! Happy New Year!
